I guess you’ve seen “The Little Mermaid“, the 1989 animation movie based on a story written by Hans Christian Andersen. The other day my 3 years old daughter asked me about mermaids (after she saw the movie) and told me she wants to be a mermaid when she’ll grow up. Yeah, she’s a sweetheart and she’s just 3 so I have to let her dream with her eyes open a little bit more. Then I wondered if mermaids really existed. I mean I know that manatees are some sort of mermaid but the half woman half fish did really exist? Can’t help from wondering how a male mermaid looked like. There has to be a male for reproduction, right?

Then I started googleing for infos about mermaids and pictures that prove their existence and the result I’m going to share it with you. Still, I must warn you. If you suffer from heart conditions please don’t read more. The pictures are not that … beautiful as some would expect!
